Scott Martinez and Dan Pabon, attorneys in the Denver office of Holland & Hart, LLP, returned home after working for two months on President Barack Obama’s Presidential Transition Team. They were a part of a team that worked on transparency and ethics issues that culminated in Obama’s first Executive Order and written memo to staff.
Holland & Hart supported the opportunity and offered a leave of absence to both attorneys so they could serve in this role. Martinez and Pabon left their practices in December, and over the course of two months, they provided the legal framework for Obama's first Executive order on January 21st and the related Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies.
The Office of White House Counsel sought Martinez and Pabon's advice and legal skills to effectuate a successful transition. As young attorneys, Martinez and Pabon are considered role models and leaders in Colorado most influential political circles.
The two are written up in Law Week Colorado’s most recent issue for their experience.
