Cliff Stricklin, a former assistant U.S. attorney now in private practice at Holland & Hart, helped win fraud convictions against former Enron executives in Houston before he led the case against Nacchio.
Stricklin headed the government's case against former Qwest chief Joe Nacchio, and said Wednesday that the decision to uphold his conviction could make the government more likely to pursue similar cases in the future.
"I really anticipate the government will be more willing to go after more cases of fraud and securities violations," Stricklin alleged. "This decision gives the government a firmer foundation to build on for future prosecutions."
